TYRA ALICE 5 MONTHS OLD

I cannot believe that in the same amount of time we have had Tyra for (5 months)  we will be planning her 1st birthday party already!  When people ask me how old she is, I always want to say 3 months, because that is how long it feels like to me!  I have just started giving her some "real people food" Like mashed bananas, tiny bites of spaghetti, a go gurt, corn. ect.. So far she likes it all. (such a mess though) I am not even going to bother with baby food this time around.  I cannot wait till she is done with the high chair, I know it will be a year from now... but I hate cleaning that thing and I can't wait to get rid of it!  So far she hasn't got an ear infection for two weeks, and is still super easy going.  She rolls all over, grabs her toys quickly to bite them, knows when her bottle is coming and gets pretty mad if you don't give it to her fast enough.  She is entertained by her 3 brothers... so this week I might have to do some entertaining myself since two of the boys will be getting on the bus to go to school :( I am sure that will be my next post!  We are blessed to have had 5 great months with our baby girl so far!
We also have a new baby neice Daylin Patricia (one week old)  These girls already get to ride "in style"  I know they are going to be great friends and will have a blast growing up together!

viva las vegas august 2010

We went to vegas with these three other couples, Nathan and Amber Zoerink, Kyle and Amy Jackson, and Kyle and Jennelle Boon.  It was a GREAT group of people we had an awesome time. Getting Starbucks everyday, Laying around by the pool from 8 am to 4 or 5 pm.  Playing volleyball and basketball in the pool.  Hanging out in the hotel rooms, walking around, shopping, going to great dinners and lots more!  It was sooooo much fun and we will definately do another trip with all of them again!
Grant and I at my favorite hotel... The venetian.  All the hotels were AMAZING to see, but for some reason this one I loved the most.
The guys loved challenging other people to games of basketball and volleyball.  I think they kicked everyone's butts!
This was a night out to Caesar's Palace for dinner.  Kyle and Amy didn't make this picture b/c they were off seeing the dolphins at the mirage.  They met up with us later!
We had a great time together without the kids for once, although we both agreed we couldn't leave them for longer than 5 days :)  Gotta start planning another trip now that its back to school, changing diapers, cooking dinner, laundry... oh and the cold wet weather!

Gannon went on the hang glider... I think he was almost too little to go on, but he went on... He didn't cry, didn't throw up and didn't smile.  He said he liked it.. he wanted to see the picture of him that I took and when he saw it he said "thats not me, why did you take a picture of that guy"  he is in the background :)
We finally got Griffin to go on a "big kid roller coaster"  He liked it, but didn't go on it again.  He went on with Gannon and cousin Lane.
Daddy with the boys at their favorite part of the fair... The demolition derby!
Gannon, Griffin, Lane and Riley at the derby!  All in all it was a very great and hot (90 degrees) day at the fair!  Glad we don't have to go back till next year!

TYRA 4 MONTHS OLD

Tyra is already 4 months old!  She is a very good baby, my best by far, my best sleeper...Maybe because she is a girl?  However, she is far from perfect when she has an ear infection!  I had high hopes that my girl wouldn't follow her brother's patterns of chronic ear infections till 10 months old and they could get tubes put in... but she has out done her brothers.  (the doctors tell me its hereditary) ... Maybe I should have figured that out before I had 4 kids!  Just kidding.  All the boys started with ear infections AT 4 months old... Tyra is on her 3rd ear infection and she JUST turned 4 months old!  I pray that the ear infections will just stop... its not very fun giving medicine twice a day for ten days, not to mention the runny diapers that come with it.  But on the otherhand I am a pro at knowing exactly when my kids have an ear infection, (my doctor is willing to call in a prescription over the phone sometimes because I think I have only been wrong about them having an ear infection twice out of all four kids ) dealing with the ear infection, and getting really good at taking all 4 kids to the doctors office. ( I can't get a baby sitter every week to take someone to the doctor... I would rather save my babysitters for a fun day out :)  Once she is on her medicine she is a happy, go with the flow girl.  She loves to give wide open slobber kisses (my boys call them) and is already going through the "I am scared of a strangers face stage."  She so far has been a blessing to our family and I keep dressing her in all these cute outfits she has, always a headband or bow in her hair... because once she is old enough to figure out her brothers never have to wear that stuff, I am sure she wont wear it either!
